über Ryoichi Kurokawa
Japanese artist Ryoichi Kurokawa’s works emerge from analog representations of perceived nature, which he transforms into digital streams of dizzying imagery and emotion. At the same time, he considers audio as a central element of his unique pieces, in addition to the visual. Kurokawa’s works take many forms, from installations to concert pieces. In recent years, his work has been shown at festivals and museums worldwide, including TATE Modern [UK], Centre Pompidou [FR], Venice Biennale [IT] , Palais de Tokyo [FR], ARS Electronica [AT], Mutek [CA/MX/JP/ES], YCAM [JP], and EMPAC [US]. In 2010, he was awarded the Golden Nica at the Prix Ars Electronica in the Digital Musics & Sound Art category.
